Role

Precision Systems, Inc. (PSI) provided comprehensive civil and streetscape design services for the rehabilitation of Kennedy Street NW, a critical one-mile corridor in Washington, DC, extending from Georgia Avenue to North Capitol Street, including Missouri Avenue and Kansas Avenue.

Our team developed a fully ADA-compliant streetscape design, overcoming complex grade-change challenges and collaborating closely with local businesses and community stakeholders. The project featured traffic calming strategies such as curb extensions, raised crosswalks, and pedestrian-focused improvements to enhance safety and walkability.

To support sustainable urban infrastructure, PSI incorporated green infrastructure solutions, including suspended pavement systems and bioretention planter boxes for stormwater management and long-term environmental resilience.

The project was recognized with the 2019 ACEC Metropolitan Washington Award in Transportation, underscoring PSI’s dedication to engineering excellence, urban innovation, and community-focused design.
